CRUSHING THE SERPENT

For you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus. For as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ. There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus. And if you are Christ's, then you are Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.-Gal.3:26-29.

The above passage begins to throw more light on why the head of the serpent has not been crushed by the seed of the woman as promised in scripture (Gen.3:15).

We understand that the seed is Christ but what we have failed to see is the fact that Christ alone -the head- is incomplete without His body. The bible says we are Abraham's seed (note singular not plural) that means we are one with Christ having been baptized into Him. If Christ is the Head and we are the body it means we are the part He will use for the job. It is with the heel that you crush. Of the increase of His government and peace there shall be no end, but the government is upon his shoulder which is the body. A head is ineffective as long as the body is paralised or dismembered. How can the shoulder carry the weight if it wants nothing to do with the legs.

When a man's body is paralised for whatever reason no matter what his head wants done it cannot. The seed is made up of Christ and Christ is made up of the Head and the body and for as long as we allow the body to be paralised by fragmentation and segregation, devided by things that are not relivant to the job at hand- crushing the serpent- we keep Christ ineffective. Our unity and cohesion is very vital to see the serpent rendered ineffective. All individualisation of the effort will only render the body powerless to deal with the real enemy.

What is it that is seperating you from your brother; denomination, skin colour, language, doctrine, and such like. Christ said if they are not against us they are for us. Scripture took note of the fact that the seed is made up of many members, hence we are called heirs (plural) of the promise, that fitly become one.

Why don't we leave that which devides us and look unto Christ who unites us for in him we are built into one house. Reach out and touch someone today who looks different from you, who speaks different from you, in a denomination different from yours. Let us break the wall that seperates us so we can do the work that awaits us.
