Fellowship of World Christians 'Working Together in Union with Christ'

Do you believe the word of God is made of realities or just metaphors and good suggestions for us? I sometimes wonder if some people in evangelical church's actually believe in the literal power of God to love them unconditionally or they just live hoping that He does.How many people actually really know what they believe and what the Bible says about it. Do we base our beliefs on a few scriptures or the overall purpose of God ? How literal are the scriptures to you? I would like to hear some input on this subject. Do we believe or just hope for the best?
What position or status are we in as a believer in Jesus and the cross?

Yes God speaks to us today. We can recognize His voice when we know scripture. He will never contradict HIS word. God will never say something to contradict His purpose for all people. You are right when you say Gods speaking will bring His word to mind. We are responsible for what we know so we must seek God through His word. He does speak to us by sometimes leading us places we have never been before. But still He will never
say anything He has not already addressed in His word. His purpose never changes....Thank God He does speak to His children still today ! The steps of a good man are ordered of the Lord..If we listen, HE will speak.....Through others, through books, through scripture and sometimes just through a thought or circumstance. Nothing happens to a believer that is not coordinated by God. GOD is not limited ! Whatever you believe is true for you...IF you don't believe then that is true for you, you are an unbeliever...Thank God for that choice and that we are not made into puppets but we are individually made and loved by God. Faith pleases God ! Nothing less, nothing more.....

My relationship with G-d is based on HIS WORD. HE IS HIS WORD. HIS WORD IS SETTLED IN THE HEAVENS. HE IS A CONTRACT KEEP...IF HE SAID IT HE MEANT IT. HE IS A PERSON, JUST LIKE YOU AND ME. HE SHARES WITH ME IN THE FIRST TESTAMENT THAT HE PARTNERS WITH DIFFERENT VARIETIES OF PERSONALITY TYPES TO HELP THEM ACHIEVE GREATNESS THAT HE HAS POTENTIALLY PLANTED IN THEM. HE SHARES WHO HE IS AND WHAT HE IS CAPABLE TO DO! IMPOSSIBILITIES IS HIS SPECIALTY!

IN THE SECOND TESTAMENT, HE GIVES US HIS SON...IN THE FLESH! HE GIVES A LIVING LOOK OF HIS CHARACTER AND HOW HE GOES ABOUT THE DAILY BUSINESS OF HIS DAY SINCE HE NEVER SLEEPS. HE SHOWS US HIS LOVE IN A PHYSICAL AND TANGIBLE WAY: JESUS CHRIST!

HE ALSO INVITES ME TO BE INVOLVED IN KNOWING THE FUTURE AND THE PLANS HE HAS FOR HEAVEN AND EARTH! HE ALSO ALLOWS ME TO HAVE PART OF HIMSELF ACTIVE IN ME 24/7. HOW AWESOME IS THAT.

THERE IS ONLY ONE PART THAT MUST BE MIXED WITH HIS WORD...IT IS MY PART.....MY FAITH....! FAITH IS WHAT PLEASES G-D...BELIEVEING WITHOUT SEEING...KNOWING WITHOUT VISUALIBLE EVIDENCE....FAITH IS A SUBSTANCE.....IT IS THE ONLY ACTIVE INGREDIENCE THAT IS A MUST TO HIS WORD......

I MUST BELIEVE THAT HE IS REAL AND THAT HE IS THE REWARDER OF THOSE THAT SEEK HIM!

HE SENDS HIS WORD...IT WILL NOT RETURN VOID...WITHOUT FULFILLING EVERYTHING HE SENT IT TO DO!

G-D SAID, LET THERE BE LIGHT...AND THERE WAS LIGHT!

HIS WORD IS WHO HE IS TO ME...! MORE REAL, ALIVE, AND POWERFUL THAN ANY EARTH WEAPON! HE IS EVERYTHING I WILL EVER NEED. THIS IS MY PRAYER FOR EACH AND EVERY PERSON...TO GET TO KNOW THE ONE AND ONLY TRUE G-D, THRU CHRIST JESUS...AND LET HIM REVEAL HIMSELF BY HIS SPIRIT SO THAT WE CAN LOVE HIM LIKE HE DESERVES TO BE LOVED.....UNCONDITIONALLY!

Hi Gerry,
Im new on faithbook,so am finding my way around,in answer to your blog,i have found the same sort of question in my case i would say not many churchs do.could it be religion is just an other thing to sort of believe and stops short at just an insurance policy for a ticket to the next life for some.?
as for me i was like that myself,untill i lost my health,my career,my wife and my home.I thought i was going to die,i had never been so down in my life,i new of god-jesus-but didnt know him.
now i do i feel his prescence and have had a very good experience of him .He is healing me and revealing himself to me in such a deep way.I never new i could experience god.I am finding such a hunger in me for Him.
i research the internet and watch variouse god channels and dig out the good stuff,Im finding the HOLY SPIRIT really is my comforter and teacher ect.I think church in some cases dont know because of church leaders not knowing,God is not a doctrine nor is the bible a book of fables or a good guide to life.I am finding the bible so deep and so all together about jesus and what he has done for me.I got some chuck missler dvd s and find the depth of the bible endless.
It is so profound to the needs of mankind ie Love=Jesus the whole passion of christ was an orchasrated in such fine detail and completley plained by god the father,for us .to think the word of god has become such folly to the world breaks my heart.Because man has such a need to be incontrol of himself and thinks he is so wise.

AGAIN Elihu met his pupils in the sacred grove and said, 2 No man lives unto himself; for every living thing is bound by cords to every other living thing. 3 Blest are the pure in heart; for they will love and not demand love in return. 4 They will not do to other men what they would not have other men do unto them. 5 There are two selfs; the higher and the lower self. 6 The higher self is human spirit clothed with soul, made in the form of God. 7 The lower self, the carnal self, the body of desires,is a reflection of the higher self, distorted by the murky ethers of the flesh. 8 The lower self is an illusion, and will pass away; the higher self is God in man, and will not pass away. 9 The lower self is the embodiment of truth reversed, and so is falsehood manifest. 10 The higher self is justice, mercy, love and right; the lower self is what the higher self is not. 11 The lower self breeds hatred, slander, lewdness, murders, theft, and everthing that harms; the higher self is mother of the virtues and the harmonies of life. 12 The lower self is rich in promises, but poor in blessedness and peace; it offers pleasure, joy and satisfying gains; but gives unrest and misery and death. 13 It gives men apples that are lovely to the eye and pleasant to the smell; their cores are full of bitterness and gall. 14 If you would ask me what to study I would say, yourselves; and when you will have studied them, and then would ask me what to study next, I would reply, yourselves. 15 He who knows well his lower self, knows the illusions of the world, knows of the things that pass away; and he who knows his higher self, know God; knows well the things that cannot pass away. 16 Thrice blessed is the man who has made purity and love his very own; he has been ransomed from the perils of the lower self and is himself his higher self. 17 Men seek salvation from an evil that they deem a living monster of the nether world; and they have gods that are but demons in disguise; all powerful, yet full of jealousy and hate and lust; 18 Whose favours must be bought with costly sacrifice of fruits, and of the lives of birds, and animals, and human kind. 19 And yet these gods possess no ears to hear, no eyes to see, no heart to sympathise, no power to save. 20 This evil is myth; these gods are made of air, clothed with shadows of a thought. 21 The only devil from which men must be redeemed is self, the lower self. If man would find his devil he must look within; his name is self. 22 If man would find his saviour he must look within; and when the demon self has been dethroned the saviour, Love, will be exulted to the throne of power. 23 The David of the light is Purity, who slays the strong Goliath of the dark, and seats the saviour, Love, upon the throne.

Trixie, if you do not believe why do you just randomly go to peoples discussions and try to belittle others like a little child would do, you put forth absolutely nothing in the discussion of substance, nothing that tells anyone that you have a intelligent thought. You are only trying to make people mad and this is suppose to tell us you are someone of more knowledge and more intelligent than everyone else here. On the contrary Trixie you are what is wrong with the world, you offer only the lowest of mental thinking, more animalistic in nature than those who search for truth, your root thinking only advances racism and prejudice towards others.

Each word of scripture holds a spiritual message to the reader. One person’s interpretation may differ from another’s, but the underlining connection; it is God’s word, faithfully recorded by those He has chosen to witness and reveal to the nations.

In your first question – ‘Do you believe the word of God is made of realities or just metaphors and good suggestions for us?’ Three words stand out; realities, metaphors and suggestions. Another meaning for these words is as follows;

Realities = Truths
Metaphors = Figures of speech
Suggestions = Proposals

God only speaks the truth. Therefore, He does not bewilder us with figures of speech or make proposals of uncertainties of what might be! God is specific in His instructions, covenants and promises. Nevertheless, he has also given us free will, a Holy endowment that can liberate or shackle our soul, depending on how we use this gift. It is written;

Ephesians 1:13-14 (The Message)

13-14 It's in Christ that you, once you heard the truth and believed it (this Message of your salvation), found yourselves home free—signed, sealed, and delivered by the Holy Spirit. This signet from God is the first instalment on what's coming, a reminder that we'll get everything God has planned for us, a praising and glorious life.

Martin Luther King Jr. was quoted as saying “I believe that unarmed truth and unconditional love will have the final word in reality”.

Everyone who puts their trust in the Lord must accept, without a shadow of a doubt, His unconditional love for us is exactly that; as it is written:

Romans 5:8 (New International Version)

8 But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us

You also ask - ‘How many people actually really know what they believe and what the Bible says about it. Do we base our beliefs on a few scriptures or the overall purpose of God?’ How literal are the scriptures to you?

Wikipedia describes the word Scripture as that portion of literature deemed authoritative for establishing instructions within any of a number of specific religious traditions, especially the Abrahamic religions; Judaism, Christianity and Islam.

From the Christian perspective, the Bible is God's infallible word to humanity. Starting off with the creation, edifying God’s historical accounts of our triumphs and failures, revealing the prophetic visions of His chosen people, demonstrating His absolute concern for our salvation and describing the means for which we can achieve His will, is all in one book.

I believe the unblemished word of God is clearly made known between the front and back cover of the Bible. As I said to someone the other day, asking me about the relevance of the Bible; ‘Yes ... I have read this book from cover to cover and guess what? It’s got a happy ending’. I then looked him straight in the eyes and said; ‘... for some’!

This is the big difference between those of us who believe in Jesus as our Saviour Lord and the unshakable convictional truth of His resurrection and those who see merely a man of some historical interest.

And it is to these people we have been commissioned to spread the ‘Good News’!

It is written;

John 1:14 (New International Version)

14The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the One and Only who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.

So I end by saying thank you my friend, for stimulating the little grey cells in my head to ponder, peruse and cogitate over your blog.

My God’s blessing be upon you
Phill
