I agree.....I know that it is finction based on fact, but have you ed the LEFT BEHIND series written by Dr Tim le Haye? Makes Revelation easy to understand for the uninformed. And now we have the new USA president elect!!!........this is going to be very interesting, and scarey!!!!

I'm not too sure any more about the much popular thought of non Christians being "left behind"
Actually i'm leaning to believe that parable when Jesus was explaining the separation of the wheat from the chaff, the chaff is taken and thrown into the fire, the wheat is left behind...

Attempts to have you understand Revelation from the perspective of a Baptist. . .and many others who would call themselves Evagelical. But not all Evangelicals believe this approach.

I wonder if we need to expand our scholarship?

One of the understandings of the writing of the "Revelation" (it is singular, not plural) is that it was written as an encouragement for the Christains of the first century and has little to do with today except that there are similar principles in operation just as there have been in every era.

Some of the best Biblical scholars in the world hold to this position. Are our beliefs based on our own exhaustive study or do we just buy into whatever group has been most influential in our lives? There are several views of the meaning of John's writing.

There are several views of the atonement, the Trinity (not a Biblical word), original sin (concept did not exist in the church prior to the influence of Greek converts), salvation etc.

Holding a firm position is admirable providing we know the other positions held and have done our homework.

Daniel from the Hebrew Scriptures (Old Testament) and Revelation from the Christian Scriptures (New Testament) are perhaps the most important prophetic books in the Bible.

Approximately 2500 prophecies appear in the pages of the Bible, about 2000 of which already have been fulfilled to the letter--no errors. Therefore, in my mind (and heart), there is no doubt that the remaining prophetic statements will also come to pass!

In Matthew 24:14, the Bible says that the Gospel (the news about Jesus and his offer of salvation and eternal life) will be preached throughout the world. The Bible also says that sometime after this happens, the end will come. The Bible has been preached throughout the world for a long time. But now, with the increasing worldwide availability of television and the Internet, there is greater potential for the Gospel to be preached to everyone, everywhere.

So when you ask; ‘Do you think the prophecies written in Revelation is about to come to pass? My answer (speaking with faith and conviction) is yes!

Revelation 1:1-3 (The Message)

1-2 A revealing of Jesus, the Messiah. God gave it to make plain to his servants what is about to happen. He published and delivered it by Angel to his servant John. And John told everything he saw: God's Word— the witness of Jesus Christ!
3How blessed the reader! How blessed the hearers and keepers of these oracle words, all the words written in this book!

Time is just about up.

I do not mean to be crass, but the question is far to broad to merit a simple yes or no answer. Biblical prophecies are not all that straight forward, especially concerning end-time. There are more misinterpretations than there are accurate ones and it is often difficult to sort them out. I do have a simple rule of thumb. I never believe those whose arrogance shows through, who are condenscending to those who don't see it their particular way, and those who will not listen to reason as though they now have all of the revelation figured out. However, it seems clear enough that we are at the threshold of seeing major changes under divine direction right before our eyes. Our duty is to keep on witnessing and looking for Christ's return. That is the most vital concern that should be on our hearts. He is not coming for those sitting idly on a hill gazing into the clouds, but for those who remain faithful in the trenches of human misery at His coming. We won't have to look for Him. He will find us.

2012, directed by Roland Emmerich and starring the actors John Cusack, Danny Glover, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Amanda Peet, Thandie Newton, Oliver Platt and Woody Harrelson was released on November 13, 2009. The first teaser trailer for 2012 showed a mega tsunami surging over the Himalayas and interlaced a purportedly scientific message suggesting that the world would end in 2012, and the world's governments were not preparing its population for the event.

The studio also launched a viral marketing website operated by the fictional Institute for Human Continuity, where filmgoers could register for a lottery number to be part of a small population that would be rescued from the global destruction.

The fictitious website lists the Nibiru collision, a galactic alignment, and increased solar activity among its possible doomsday scenarios. David Morrison of NASA received over 1000 inquiries from people who thought the website was genuine and has condemned it, saying "I've even had cases of teenagers writing to me saying they are contemplating suicide because they don't want to see the world end. I think when you lie on the Internet and scare children in order to make a buck, it is ethically wrong."

It’s also a clever bit of fiction, based on what has become known as the 2012 phenomenon. This comprises a range of eschatological beliefs suggesting cataclysmic or transformative events will occur on December 21 or December 23, 2012, which is said to be the end-date of a 5,125-year-long cycle in the Mayan Long Count calendar.

However, the reality of the ‘End Times’ is clearly spoken in the ‘Word’;

Matthew 24:36 (The Message)

36 But the exact day and hour? No one knows that, not even heaven's angels, not even the Son. Only the Father knows.

It’s even more intriguing to note, even Jesus is excluded from this knowledge!

this movie is upsetting many people that doesnt know the word. you are right know man not even jesus knows the time . god says himself that not even the one that sit at my right hand know it. if god says that jesus doesnt know why do people thank that we would know.. so do what god says. ( if they say that i am in the dfesert dont go , if they says i a in the mountains dont go ) his word is truth . you dont have to go anywhere he is in your heart . and we have the promise that he is not going to leave us nor forsake us as his word says.. i will say that god has spoken and in the next 3 1/2 years this nation is going to see darkness like we have never seen but his children we be safe and looked after but we have to trust him and him only
